Wales 41- Canada 10... ye of little faith , or is Canada going to beat N.Zealand to become runner up? (to all those people who said Canada)
Cymru am byth !
.. just hope the welsh don't do something stupid and lose to one of the other teams now (Tonga and Italy)

Hang on..... yippie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I was dreading that match. Now I'm dreading next weekends

And what is it with the Welsh white kit?? argh!! I'm trained not to watch the white
"Do not go into the white"(poltergeist):scared: lol uch sais colour!

Cr*p matches of the weekend
England ... I fell asleep after 15 minutes.. very mediocre
Scotland v Japan (come on Scotland what the hell are you playing at? you should have won by more than)
Australia v Argentina... if the Aussies carry on playing like that Ireland will have no worries
Fiji and France - very entertaining. Fiji team should take up boxing.
N.Zealand v Italy - they could have beat the Italians with their hands tied behind their back.

I didn't see the Irish or S.African match.

I do hope it will be a Welsh English quarter 4.. (I've got tickets to this match, it's the only chance I will get to see Wales in the flesh) .. and don't get too cocky England, you may be good and the best in the world at the moment, but you forget that Wales (and the other Celtic nations) can play some of their best rugby when they come up against you...... short memory!!! we may not be good enough to go all the way.. but we sure can be a pain in the arse to you English sometimes - It's our job

Five/six nations. The celtic nations being a pain to England:
1999 Wales 32-31 England
2000 Scotland 19-13 England
2001 Ireland 20-14 England
2002 FRANCE 20 vs 15 ENGLAND

the close match scores for last (2003) 6 nations
2003 (ENGLAND 25 :: 17 FRANCE) (WALES 9 vs 26 ENGLAND.. hardly slaughtered us, France had a better score over us than you did FRANCE 33 vs 5 WALES)

Last world cup - quarter finals:

South Africa 44 - 21 England
Wales 9 - 24 Australia (not bad considering they"Australia" won the cup)

..............................................

final... either France/ Ireland/ S.Africa/ N.Zealand

cheers
I won't ever forget the drop goal fest South Africa had over us. It just shows how on the day anything can happen.

The last England Oz and England France results are more telling. The last England NZ result shows what a good game it would be if the 2 met again.

Wales might do an upset but it would be a very big upset. A few people have already pointed out that Englands biggest enemy is themselves. Something shown by all the gran slam nearlies.,

well he's out here (he's like an unofficial mascot for the team).. perhaps he's hoping too.. we're terrible dreamers " losing hope is when you stop trying"

Western Mail Reporter, The Western Mail

Head to the Telstra Dome for Wales' opening match.

Expats everywhere, parents with Welsh accents shepherd youngsters with broad Aussie twangs and red jerseys towards the turnstiles.

Max gets mobbed every two minutes. Terry the cameraman warns, "We're running out of tape", but miraculously produces some more to film "Chicks on Tour", a group of Canadian lovelies with Maple leaves on their cheeks.

Inside the stadium, we're so far from the pitch, only Duncan Jones' flaxen curls are visible.

But that's Aussie Rules venues for you. Wales' jittery start gives way to a try fest.

The Welsh fans are sufficiently relaxed to turn to Max and give at least six renditions of "Oggie, Oggie, Oggie".

A lone Wallaby who converts it to "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie" is cheerily booed.

Steve Hansen's own phone interrupts the post-match press conference.

We bump into Chris Wyatt on the way home, who tells us the boys are feeling good.

Next stop Canberra - the Milton Keynes of Oz.

But surely the porn capital of Australia can't be that boring?

I'd rather the French won. At least they have some passion
I would feel the same if NZ won. The media here is easily as rabid as the UK and far more one eyed. As for passion....you clearly haven't been to Twickenham.

You are just a typical member of the celtic nations. Anyone but England, cheer for every other team as you know your pathetic team cannot compete with us. Hate the English, but that never stopped you from sponging dole of us when u were in the Uk eh ?

not sure what you're on about....

I'm a NZer - here on a sponsored work permit and never have or will obtain dole money from your fine country!

I don't hate the English. I just know that if England win it means NZ haven't! I really meant the french play with flair - passion was the wrong word.

And I'm so glad I don't have to listen to the NZ media going on and on and on about the world cup. That really is the pits - especially if they lose.

He thinks you are Welsh, Scottish or Irish.. don't worry English love to stereotype us. We are cr*p, we scrounge dole, we are just cr*p cr*p and cr*p

what is one little country of 2.9 mill to do against 50 million

P.S stereotype celt here. I never support England. Why? because they stereotype us

reminds me of a great :

A mild-mannered man, Bennett nevertheless displayed much passion in the heat of battle, his infamous pre-match speech to his players before the Wales v England encounter in Cardiff in 1977 now the stuff of legends. Bennett gathered his men around him and shouted:

"Look what these bastards have done to Wales. They've taken our coal, our water, our steel. They buy our houses and they only live in them for a fortnight every 12 months. What have they given us? Absolutely nothing. We've been exploited, raped, controlled and punished by the English and that's who you are playing this afternoon."

Wales went on to win 14-9.

We don't want or need your support. I am not sure how the kiwis in the team will react to such a speech.

The exploitation must have been fun but less said about raping gingers on the dole.

Bondipom if you want to talk about dole.. there are far more English people in Wales on the dole., than vice versa.

I was reacting to the stereotype message of "you celtic nations scrounging dole etc"

And as for Phill Bennett .. he is a welsh rugby legend of the 70's surely you've heard of him .. most brits have

what the hell are you on about gingers on the dole? welsh people .. true welsh if you want to go back ...are darked hair and skinned. You're way off it now.

Don't worry I've never supported England in rugby and I am not about to start now.

Due to the fact the Welsh originated in the Turkey/Black sea area......

The Welsh also "occupied" Scotland/Cornwall and northern France.

The welsh have thier origins in the same area as the English.

Ceri,

Why do the Welsh (or some....i've been to wales lots of times and not experienced any, and have friends who hav'nt who live in N Wales) still hold this ill feeling towards the English then?

What in your opinion could the English do to recify it?

Would you want your own government/economy? Do you really think Wales could survive (now) on its own?

Probably. Just seeing if it would get you going and joining in the stereotyping!

If I was to stereotype the Welsh I would suggest you are all sheep-shagging coal miners.

Now that is something I have not done. The Welsh as far as I recall are a resonable race, despite the fact that they are rascist towards anyone English living in the north of the principality.
