I've conrtibuted to other threads on RBA. having flown with them too many times to remember, my opinion is that the flights are generally good. (But not a patch on Malaysian or Singapore) but the ground staff are appalling and you could - due to their ineptness - find yourself stuck in Brunei for longer than you thought (but then again I got stuck for 5 years in Brunei so it can't be that bad!)

In any case, the pilots are normally Australian or English.

Remember that Brunei as a country only has around 300,000 people. That's the size of a large town in the UK. So there is limited recruitment stock. They pay the air hosts a pittance relative to UK/Aus wages - up to BN$1000/month (tax free) which is around 300 quid.

Anyway, MrsM - I replied to your PM before I saw this thread.

As for alcohol, most people pre-mix G&Ts into a water bottle and carry it on. If you are flying business class, then they will let you bring a bottle of wine on board, and discretely open it for you.
