Roxby Downs

Hi we are looking at moving to Roxby for 9 months to earn some real money whilst our house is beeing built. Is it really as bad as people tell me? My fiance is a fitter/turner, currently working in Adelaide, but has just been given his notice (contracting).
Any experiences would be appreciated,
Thanks

Depends what you think is bad Kendra, housing is very hard to come by, both van parks are full, many commute by bus from woomera[ 180km round trip] money is very good if you work for BHP-BILITON but some of the contractors might want for better wages.
This could all change, when the new mine comes on line, they will be trying to get people to come and stay,so conditions will have to improve.
If i was 10 years younger i would be there tommorow, i proably get there once a month now, a 15 hr round trip by road.
Go for it, but be prepared for the CULTURE SHOCK ;) ................. mm
