Hi we too are building with Coral Homes and had to go with Colorbond roof as it was a stipulation of Stocklands (who be purchased the land from). Now that the roof is on, the colorbond does look good even though it is more expensive than tiles.

It's usually written into the sale contract.

We too had to have colourbond being a stipulation of Stockland. Its part of the contract. You don't get a choice.

I have heard that some places can even stipulate what age of car you can drive too.

We too have a color- bond roof,it makes all the popping and banging noises when your trying to sleep :curse: . I went up into the loft to have a look and there's no insulation up there! so i'll be putting some in ASAP and hopfully this will help keep the noise down and heat out.

Our rental was colourbond. It was so noisey the rain would keep us up or wake the kids up. Now have tiles and its much better.

The reason metal roofs are more popular than tiles is because tiles are often damaged by hail storms.
