Hi all just received a job offer at a firm in Rocklea/Brisbane has anyone got an opinion of Rocklea as a place to live?

You don't want to live there. Its an industrial area, full of industrial estates. There are nicer suburbs nearby if you don't want to travel too far. Try looking at Graceville or Sherwood. Lots of very pretty Queenslander style homes but very flat so none of the cooling breezes that people get obsessed about.

We visit Rocklea quite regularly - its where the Brisbane markets are, so I stock up on my fruit & veg here - but I personally would never live here. Take Jane and Jims advice. There's plenty of places not that far from Rocklea which are really nice. In terms of work, its very easy to drive to Rocklea from most Brisbane suburbs so you wouldn't need to live there anyway. And yes - Graceville and Sherwood are very nice (though can be a bit pricey). Excellent spot for watching the major fruit bat exodus every night from Indooroopilly island !
