Default Robinsons Or Pickfords?

Hi everyone

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

We're hoping to fly out to the Sunshine Coast at the end of January and have been getting quotes for shipping. Both Robinsons and Pickfords have quoted the same for a 40 ft container - £5,095 - and I'm now trying to make a decision as to which one to go with.

Has anyone had any experiences of these companies - both good and bad?

Many thanks

We used Pickfords several times (long story) but had no problem and would use them again for sure. They were professional and because they are in Oz too had no problems with 'sister agents'.

We have decided to go with Robinsons Ali. Have been recommended by others and thought they were very professional when they came out. Obviously can't comment on packing or other end as they aren't coming to pack up until 18th Jan. Good luck with whoever you decide to go with.

Can't help with removals (although we've always used Pickfords on a national basis for full packing/unpacking and never had any problems).. but grew up in Dipton and then Tanfield Lea... happy not having to deal with 10ft drifts anymore, and driving to work up steep, bendy roads covered in snow, ice and various degrees of slush

We used Robinsons for our consignment and they were fan-dabby-dozy!!
Had no problems at all.... oh hang on, we did have a picture frame with broken glass - but nothing to write home about!

They were great, really professional, lovely team of peeps at both ends and we were 100% happy!!

Never used Pickfords though, but i also believe they are extremely good!!
Good luck with the move!

Beware - we were told this before we hired Pickfords, and then found they sub-contracted the delivery to our new home in Australia to another firm which was very poor and tried to scarper having done only half the job!

Just out of interest, what on earth do you fill a 40 footer with? We brought everything from a 3 bed big house plus three sheds and all hubby's tools and the bikes etc and John Mason's got it all in a 20 foot reefer.

Just fascinated to know what else you'd bring?

Sorry no idea about either shipper. Just know John Mason's were brilliant from start to finish - but that doesn't help you.
