Thanks for that one. Im moving to nsw. can you find me one for that please instead of south australia.

I wanted to know the street version off someone first hand rather than reading it.

Some people may have had different experiences or may even work for a garage that does the roadworthyness test.

eeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhh.

Thanks my older and wiser brother.

Better than your old man mobile. Youll be getting a volvo next.
LOL

I dont understand what you are saying here gaz. In what way have i got no chance. Most of if not all of this doesnt apply to me as the car is over 30 years old so no duty or 12 month ownership. I dont need child restraints and yadda yadda. I have an email from dotars stating i can import the car without restriction. All the restrictions are for cars 30 years old or less

What point were you making, i didnt see it. Cheers.

What sort of car is it? (just for interest sake)
We just had safety certificate done on our son's car and it sailed through, just needed some brake pads on the back. We live in Queensland though so probably not much use.

It was tongue in cheek bro. I barely read the site to be honest, but it looked about right for info purposes!!!

You're better off doing your own research are you not, which is probably the point I'm trying to make, as can you really believe any post enough on here to act upon it wihthout doing your own research? Links are good, and much appreciated from those taking the trouble to find and post them, but like many others asking for info, surely it is better to find it out yourself, so you know it is 100% accurate and tailored to your needs?

I know it was, and you are right about my own research.

Most of the questions i ask are based on the fact that i have exhausted my research generally.

This question is a tired one after a busy 6 day stressful (for me ) week after a member of staff tried to kill themselves last sunday by slitting their wrists at home and i dont know if the car will be "fully" ready for june/july but it will be roadworthy, and as for now im back to work full time til i get another staff member so i dont know when i can get time to carry on yet.

I am looking at the possibility of maybe not getting another staff member (just in case no one good turns up) that i may have to stay full time til i go, and with manchester weather and me having limited time and too much money in the car already, i was trying to see if i could get it through the M.O.T. in Australia with a layer of primer over the brand new lower panels i have just welded on. Rest of the car is solid as will the new panals be. i just wont have time for a spray job if it carries on like this.
I need to do a few more bits and could potentially not even have time to get it in somewhere for them to finish off. I dont intend for it to come to that.

You know how busy my shop is mate. Its got even busier since you were there last. Boo hoo. So much for an easy last few months. If another staff member comes along after advertising then great, but i am trying to cover all angles ready for action whatever happens.

I suppose thats what i wanted answering from this post.

Just bite the bullet, save yourself the hassle, sell it in the UK and buy something else in Oz to do up.

NO!

Not yet anyway.

If im working full time agsain ill pay someone to come pick her up, do it all, spray it and ill get a cab to pick it up. This is the very last option.

Itll be fine. Ive emailed [email protected]

I Asked them direct questions.

Was just seeing if someone on here could give plain english, like "mot the same in oz as uk" or "it differs as this or that "

Itll all unfold in the next few weeks.

ps im on messenger.
