Hi everyone,

We are in Adelaide and decided to hire motorhome a drive to Brisbane.

Hubby is worried. He needs to know how long it will take, doing all the touristy things on the way.

Any help, advice appreciated.

Just as a very rough guide, using the major highways (which will probably be the least scenic route) from Adelaide to Melbourne it's around 12 hours, think it is 13-14 from Adelaide to Sydney (10 from Melbourne to Sydney), then youre looking at around 12 hours from Sydney to Brissie. Bearing in mind that would be in a car doing the max 100/110km limit with a splash n dash pee and drink stop about every three hours.

Going up the coast from Sydney, the main 110kmh highway ends at Newcastle and then it becomes the equivalent of an English 'A' Road with lower speed limits, single carriageway and trips through various small country towns.

i'd say 3-4 days solid driving in a motor home so 2 weeks would make a nice holiday.... could be done in less though but there is a lot to see on the way
