Returning to Aus after 5 yrs.. as a citizen

I have a Australian passport, but have been out of the country for 5 years, is it just a case of flying back and working or do I have to fill out any forms etc..

Rock up and carry on as if you've never been away. With a current Australian passport obviously

In terms of entering the country and getting a job, yes just rock up.

You may need to re-enrol in Medicare etc as I think citizens lose access to that after a five year period of being abroad. It is just a matter of re-doing the form but OP needs to check about that.
