Question Restaurants around St Ives (Sydney)

Looking for a place to take my folks before they go back to UK for a good lunch, doesn't matter if it is a bit pricey as long as it is good.

Lunch, as will work better with taking a bubs & toddler too
Not spicey or too different from the meat & 2 veg (ie Chinese, Thai etc are out) - maybe tradition Aussie food (whatever that is!)

Any suggestions? Not too far from St Ives as either have to get a taxi, or 2 trips by car.

thanks

Have you looked here Eatability - Enter "St Ives" in the search box on the left.

Sorry, can't comment personally on any of these.

Big.

There is a steakhouse below Harvey Norman at Gordon that certinly puts on a good feed. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/...?from=storyrhs

Pricier than pub steaks but worth it.

I have tried that - the one I was thinking of one place, but per that site has had bad reviews with the last one stating it has closed several months ago (shows you how much we don't get out)

Il Piemonte in Terrey Hills looks as though it would have a suitable menu. Have not eaten there myself but have heard good things about it (including that it is on the pricey side) but it may be worth a look. . . Wouldn't be too expensive for a taxi either. Another alternative but perhaps a bit too far away would be the restaurant or kiosk at Cottage Point.

Happy eating and perhaps you can tell us about it at the April FTC?!
