Default Reruitment Question in Sydney

Me and my wife are looking to move to Sydney. Weve started the process.

However we are actually flying out to Sydney for New Year and some of January as my wifes brother will be 30. I thought it might be useful to make some contact with recruitment agencies when we're there... could get a job with a visa??? Shes a HR Manager and Im a Marketing Manager. Would anyone have any advice, is this a possible way in? Anyone any info on Recruitment agencies specialising in HR/Personnel or Marketing?

Thanks

Ian, go to www.seek.com.au also www.careerone.com.au
And depending on how long you're here for in Jan if you want to work try WorldWide Workers (I can get you their ph # on the w'end if you need) who specialise in placing folks on working visas for 3mths at a time. Mostly backpackers in market research call centres and other such but ok if you just want $$$ and meet folks/experience working here. Good luck.

Go to the seek and careerone websites for permanent roles. I was only telling you about the other one in case you wanted to do that while you were on short stay. At the seek/careerone website you can do a search for temp, part-time perm or full-time perm in any city, any area of that city, under any industry, under any position type. Most are agencies & you'll soon learn which agents specialise in what. It's updated constantly. You can email resume by clicking on the link under the job of yr choice. I think Seek is best. It's the way to go now, and you have to be quick, but also try to see if you can access job pages in the sydney morning herald on line smh.com.au (you might need to subscribe-free) if it's syd yr coming to. Big Melb paper is The Age. Big national paper is the Australian . Don't know web addresses do a google or jeeves.I'm off to bed now

Hi
Agencies specialising in marketing are:-
Aquent - www.aquent.com - try talking to get in touch with Paul Slezac who can direct you to the right consultant.
Stopgap - www.stopgap.com.au ( they are also in the UK too and can help before you go)
Wellingtons - [email protected]
Michael Page
Hudson

When you get here get hold of Ad News www.adnews.com.au and B&T www.b&t.com.au ( trade press for advertising, marketing and media). Most of these agencies will also advertise on seek too www.seek.com.au. Depending on which industry you have specialised in (if any) it may be worth going direct to some comapnies and setting appointments wiht Marketing Directors before you go. For HR maybe try HR Matters on www.hrmatters.com.au There are a lot more contract and perm HR jobs on seek lately after a dry spell. Hope this helps, Nicky
