There could be a lot of desperate landlords out there so might not be too difficult!

Show your ability to pay the rent and they will snap your arm off.
There is a place at the end of our very nice street that has been empty and available to rent for over 3 months.

Hi, we rented quite often while we lived in Perth (due to building our homes), we never had any problems as we both worked and had excellent references. I would contact the local estate agents direct in the areas your interested in and have a look what they have on "their books" often those on-line might have already been rented. Due you have any areas your interested in or a budget in mind? Good luck

Not hard these days with the exodus out of Perth. Just be aware of location and noise if party loving folk. Villas, Flats and Townhouses, usually cheaper options and well located are not often constructed to stage loud out door parties.

Thanks for the replies.
No idea what area yet, looking for somewhere to settle as im trying Perth out for up to a year to decide if i will immigrate or not. Somewhere quiete with easy access to the City Centre would be ideal.
Looking at a budget of between $400-$500pw for a furnished home, i can pay several months up front if it helps.
I will arrive in Perth on January 31st 2017, and its quite expensive to live out a hotel for very long so how quickly could i be in rented accomodation after i arrive? would i be able to get the ball rolling from home before i travel?
thanks

As mentioned by bcworld, furnished is rare here. Ikea furniture is cheap, plenty of second hand furniture available on places like Gumtree or Quokka.
Don't stay at a hotel if money is an issue, stay at a youth hostel or grab something from Stayz or AirBNB for a few weeks until you are sorted. Perth is expensive though so be prepared.
Oh and do not consider renting somewhere without air conditioning. Arriving in January, early Feb - you will be on the first plane home if you stay in a hot box.
