Renting in Melbourne

Hi All,

Can anyone tell what the average prices for say a 3-4 BEDROOM HOUSE or APARTMENT is in Melbourne and it's surrounding areas?

Also can anyone supply a list of any useful websites for renting?

Prices vary remarkably, depending on what areas you are looking at moving to. You can get as cheap as $200 a week in some areas and as expensive as you're willing to pay. Also, furnished accomodation is a lot more expensive than unfurnished. Before looking at house rents, I'd be considering the areas I was thinking of moving to and then seeing what the average prices were there. The further out from the city the cheaper the areas get, generally, although there are some notable exceptions to this. If you have a price range in mind, then you can see what areas fit into this and what other things they got going for them. In the Metropolitan area, you can generally get most for your money in the West and North, but some of the areas are not that nice.

Good luck :)
