Renting + ISP's with 1yr minimum contract(UK)
Hi all,
We may be moving into rented within the next week or 2 and I am worried about accessing the internet We are looking to be in rented for 3-4 months & then fly out to Aus in Sept/Oct & don't want to be stuck with a 1 year contract with an ISP
Does anyone know an ISP that doesn't have a 1 year minimum contract?
Here is a potentially stupid question > We are currently with Bulldog ISP, if we move into rented - could they transfer my account to the rented house & setup a connection there?(could potentially get round the 1yr minimum contract as we have been with them for a few years ) Or would they have to treat it as a new account?
Also, I don't know the first thing about renting, never done it before, would there be any problems getting an ISP seen as we are only the tenants & not actually the owner of the property? Not sure how it al works
Hope you can help
Chris

Try plusnet, they offer monthly contracts. http://www.plus.net/residential/broa...=tab_broadband

We're using Freeola (very pleased with the service )- we pay monthly and just have to give a months notice no charges involved. There are a few companies that offer a monthly internet rather than tying you into a contract - montlhy rate tends to be a bit higher but there are often special offers.

Backing up missus comments.. We used freeola because of monthly contracts and no signup or exit charges with 30 days notice.
Lots of resellers of entanet, who have the same underlying terms, but charge slightly differently. Freeola worked best for our 6 months, but they have an expensive support line if you don't know what you're doing, and you have to buy the adsl modem separately etc.
You get 30/300 gb peak/off peak if have lots to download b4 you go
http://www.entachoice.org.uk/ lists the big enta resellers.
or goto

and search for packages that match your requirements
