Renting a house in Perth
Hi
What is the best way to rent a house in Perth-do you call up an agent and will they take you round and show you different places or do you have to call up for each property you see on the websites? Is it straight forward to rent even though we will have no credit in Australia on arrival? on average how long after putting in the application can you move in if accepted?
Many thanks!

Re: Renting a house in Perth
We contacted several agents & made bookings for houses we'd seen online or went along to the open days.
We had no credit history & no jobs but did have a bank account & they were happy that there was enough funds in that plus we had enough points with our driving licenses, passports, etc.
We landed in Perth on the Thursday evening, viewed the property we're in now on the Saturday, put the paperwork in on the Monday, got the OK for it on the Wednesday & picked up the keys & moved in the following day, a week after arriving
I think we were fairly lucky though as I have heard many people say it's taken them a while to find a property & be accepted.
