We are moving to NSW in March (as long as the house completes etc...) and will rent for at least 6 months on arrival in Oz. Does anyone know if we will need any references to be able to rent, or is the deposit all that's needed?

Agents will almost definitely want references. Ours needed 2 personal (but non-related) references and contacted both parties and asked questions.

I didnt get asked for any references just the bond money

We also didnt need any references.

All they wanted was the deposit and a look at our bank statement to prove we had sufficent funds for the term of the lease as non of us had a job at that time.
