Hi - just noticed its 12years since i was last here...time flies and it would take me about 12 years to share the last 12 lol...anyway are you allowed to advert private rentals on this forum, I vaguely remember that I think it used to be allowed.

No, it hasn't. There used to be a Classifieds section but it was worldwide, not country specific, so was never a success.

Anything that looks like an ad is not permitted on BE. Sometimes frequent posters* seem to get away with posting in a grey area, discussing the disposal or availabilty of some product or service, especially on the "wanted" side of the equation e.g. I am moving to Canberra and need a 2-bed flat - what would the best place to look be?". But if your post says "I have for sale ....", or "I have for rent ....." then it is likely to get deleted PDQ.

* If you post 500+ times a year and post frequently about your cars and driving topics, and then post about a car that you are reparing and cleaning up to prepare for sale, but the post is, at least apparently, about the paint touch-ups and the cleaning products you're using, then such a post is probably not going to attract much attention, but if you only posted 20 times, ever, and the last time you posted was in 2017, and you suddenly pop up with a post about a car that you're planning to sell, then it is likely to attract attention from the mods, and either be deleted or heavily <snip> <snip> edited.
