Default Rental Agreements.

Has anyone got any ideas or experience of getting out of a rental agreement.?

How did you do it and how much did it cost..?

We are tempted to buy a property sooner rather than later, given the current exchange rate..

However spoke to a chap the other day who is convinced the Adelaide house prices are ready to take a big fall..

Anyone agree with him..??

how long have u got left on it -- if its the same in adelaide as in perth then the responsibility to find another tenant to sign up is yours -- i rented from a " break lease " situation -- it was still advertised on the reiwa site but the contact details given were the tenants ( not the agent) we called him up -- viewed it and he passed our details to the agent who then signed us ..can't help with your other question as not in adelaide -- good luck anyway

We just broke a 12 month lease after 4 months. It cost us almost 2 1/2 weeks rent. Just sign the form and hand it in (get a receipt!) then cross your fingers they find a replacement for you soon or you could get lumbered with the rent. No worries on that score in Perth!

We bought while still renting and left the old home owners renting for a while until we could get out of the lease, meant we bought 6 months earlier than we would have done and reaped the benefits while getting the mortgage paid.

It cost us about $300. The agents had no problem finding new tenants the way the market is in Perth at the moment. We got all of our bond back.
