Default Rental advice Sydney

Hi folks, can't believe it but we're off to Oz at the end of March for a validation trip. Looking for some advice regarding a rental property somewhere in the North East. Anybody "know" anybody or have any experience renting in this area?

rough dates would be around 26th March - 7th April.

cheers

We've been renting in the Hills district (Kellyville/Rouse Hill border), for the past 8 months, today we moved out and into the CBD (Pyrmont). We have been paying $800 pw for a largeish house with a pool.

IMHO the hills is great for families, there are big houses which cost less than similar ones which have better transport, but for us the commute was taking too long (over an hour each way on a bus, no trains where we lived).

The other downside is there's very little going on, just a couple of massive pubs neither of which was in walking distance and no restaurants nearby (unless you count McD's, I don't). Basically, if you think of my part of the hills as one massive housing estate with no local shops, restaurants or pubs you won't be far wrong.

Lots of people love it, but the reasons above caused us to move.

EDIT, just re-read your post, mine refers to the North West of Sydney so maybe no use to you, just some general advice, consider your commute - Sydney traffic can be bad!

If you're just looking for accommodtion for your validation trip try looking at Stayz.com.au - you should find something on there.

For long-term rentals, check out realestate.com.au - just click on the Rent button and type in the area you want to investigate. Use Google Maps to identify areas of interest.
