Default Renewal of Childs UK Passport outside UK

Hi
Just noticed that my childrens UK passports expire before we intend to travel to the UK. I noticed that it is really expensive to get them renewed here in Canberra.
I wondered if anyone had sent their passports back to the UK for renewal or travelled to UK on Australian Passport and renewed UK passport whilst in UK?

Any comments appreciated.
Regards
Debs

Are you going to be returning to the U.K. to live - or just visit?

Serious question - If you have an Australian passport why do you need a UK one?

An Australian passport will do for that.

You possibly don't need both but if you're entitled to both, it's perfectly reasonable to have both. You never know when you may need one or the other. Some countries may require Australia (or UK) passport holders to have a visa, and the other doesn't. You never know when you might want one
