Talking Removal firms?

Hi,

Just wondering if any one can recomend a good removal firm. We are moving to Brisbane from Berkshire in the summer.

Thanks:

We had Pickfords out to give us a quote yesterday, the lady who came was really pleasant and had loads of info to leave for us, re what to and what not to take. Pickfords have a depot in Brisbane, where we will be heading too, so its probably the company we will go for, but get a couple of quotes would be my advice.

Mmmmm, well we got couple other firms coming in, one is PSS so will have few quotes to choose from. Dont know it makes any difference but that price was to pack everything as well which they reckon will take two days.

I thought Pickfords were in receivership? Or have I remembered wrongly?

You were right - Pickfords have now been bought out by TEAM. They aren't changing any branding - so Pickfords will continue to trade as Pickfords (and I work there for 3 more days!)

We had Atlantic in last night and he quoted us half the volume that pickfords did at £2500 for a groupage, would take about 8-11 weeks, OH has booked another five I did point out to him that it was very cunning for him to phone these Co's on his two week hols and then book these rather dull appointments while he is at work so i have to deal with them

Just had a quote from Harrow Green:
£3600 for 20ft, all packed over 2 days, 3rd day to pack container plus 2.5% insurance on top of that.
$370 for AQIS inspection in Oz and interestingly they advised us to take a small budget ($500) for fumigation (apparently certain items always get treated)!
Got Whites coming Monday.

Hi,

We've now got 4 of 6 prices in:

White & Co £3260.00
PSS £3424.00
Doree Bonner £4100.00
Robinsons £4300.00

Still waiting for Atlantic & Anglo Pacific

The prices were for sole use of a 20ft container with 2 boxes made for the plasma tv and a 5ft tall lamp going from Crawley, West Sussex to Brisbane.

I'll add the others when we get them...just gotta sell the bloody house first!!
