Registering a UK motorbike in NSW
Hi
I live in Sydney but have a bike in England that I want to ship over. However, not sure how I register the thing and how much it all costs.
If anyone has experience of this please let me know.
Thanks
James

I'm hoping to do the same with my bike when i move to Adelaide early next year.
The first thing you need to do is get approval. you need an import approval form from www. dotars.gov.au/transreg/vsb/vsb.
You can print out the form but will need to send $50 with the completed form. I have loads of info (somewhere ) on this matter, i'll have to dig it out and let you know. Hope the info's been useful.
Arron
Adelaide soon please!!!!!

I have deliberated over this for well over a year now and having weighed all the pro's and cons I have decided to sell here and buy again in Oz.
The bike has to be plated to conform to Oz regs when you get there and because of that you can expect your insurance costs to rocket especially if you are under 40 yrs old an example I have been shown is fully comprehensive policy, 25 yr old rider,ZX7R, 3 yrs ncb, bike value $3500 has to pay just shy of $3000 with an excess of $2500.
The only advice I could give was to insure it tpft and put the rest into savings account JUST incase
