Question Registered nurse applied for PR OZ

Hi my name is Dawn and have just joined this site with my husband Mark. Have applied for PR in August not heard anything yet but they have taken the money out. We are a family of five, 3 kids aged 18,12 and 7 looking to move to Brisbane on a permanent skilled visa. Can anyone give us idea of the time scale and should we complete our medicals and police checks before being asked?

My wife is a nurse & we applied for PR visa, we didn't do medicals or police checks until requested & whole process took 5 months.
Are you using an agent?

Hi and welcome Dawn,

Have you checked out www.Austimeline.com ?

I applied end of August, and front loaded with police checks and medicals.

It might be an idea to get your police checks done, as I believe they can take up to 40 days to come back.

You could check what the waiting time is for medicals.

In the end it is your decision whether you have your medicals done unrequested, but looking at other timelines, I would have thought they will request them soon anyway.

Have you checked out the nursing section of this forum?

Hi Jackie
We are hoping to go as soon as we get the Visa and sell the house. I currently work and live in Coventry. It took me about 6 weeks to get my skills assessment back from the ANC and sent our Visa application on the 17th August but have not heard anything only that they have took the money out.

Hi Dawn,

I'm a mental health nurse in training. There seems to be rather a lot of nurses on this here forum! This is an interesting thread to read, as the nursing bit of the forum has gone a bit dead. It gives me an idea of how other applications are progressing.

I wish you all the very best of luck with your applications. Keep posting to let others know of progress! I'm dead interested in reading about your adventures!

Tony.

Hi there
I'm a rgn and midwife,my visa application this year took 3 months for me a husband and 3 children.we waited till asked to do police checks and medicals as we had them done previously for a 465 visa.immigration requested all new ones :scared: all we heard was the money taken on credit card statement, then a letter re medical and pc's,then the visa was issued.they don't like to correspond too much.
we have settled by the sea in redland bay(bayside brisbane) and really like it.I have registered with a good agency acclaim recruitment and have done a couple of shifts,i do general surgery, gynae, paeds, midwifery.at the moment as hubby has got full time work i stay around here with my boys(12,9,7) and socialise.
good luck to you all.

Hi Mary have you applied for a permanent Visa and was it an independant skilled one? We applied on the 17th August do you think we should get our police checks done and how much do they cost? We are due to go out on holiday on the 20th November as originally we were going to apply for our visa when we got back but because it take so long we thought we would get the ball rolling now. we are worried in case they issue the visa when we are on holiday as it says you can not be in Australia when the visa is issued. What do the medicals consist of for the kids and do they have to have xrays etc. Anyway sorry about all the questions
