A family member or friend is hypothetically coming from Europe/America to Australia for two weeks. Where would you send them?

Can't visit one of the major capital cities, except to transit through.

If it was winter:

Day 1: Perth to Kalbarri, through the Pinnacles;
Day 2: Kalbarri NP;
Day 3: Kalbarri-Carnarvon;
Day 4: Kennedy Ranges;
Day 5: Carnarvon-Exmouth;
Days 6-8: Ningaloo Reef;
Day 9: Exmouth-Tom Price;
Days 10-12: Karijini NP;
Day 13-14: Return to Perth via Cue and the inland road.

Could easily swap out Kalbarri for Karratha (re-arranging the itinerary a bit) to include the rock art at Burrup Peninsula and a drive-through of Millstream.

If it was summer:

Day 1: Perth to Busselton
Days 2-4: Busselton-Margaret River-Augusta Corridor
Day 5: Busselton-Albany, through the South Coast Highway/Tree Top Walk/Pemberton Forests
Days 6-8: Albany, Denmark, Porongurups/Stirling Ranges
Day 9: Albany-Esperance
Days 10-11: Esperance
Day 12: Esperance to Kalgoorlie
Day 13: Lake Ballard, through Menzies
Day 14: Kalgoorlie to Perth, through the Norseman/Hyden road, Wave Rock, and Kokerbin Rock (a long day but doable)

Though it's summer, there is enough to do in Kalgoorlie, and an outing to Lake Ballard is doable. Driving through the Wheatbelt on something other than the Great Eastern Highway is also a memorable experience.

What would be the itinerary, from your part of the country?

Depends really on the family, we stopped arranging grand plans for others as some visited and just wanted to chill and see our everyday life, others just wanted to chill and visit local attractions especially if it was a short visit (two weeks etc) and some also suffered with jet lag, we use to have a "travel file" full if attractions and then would let our family /friends choose what they wanted to do, we do the same here in the UK and it works well. Good luck
