Default Refund from Brisbane Council for 1st home owners

You probably all know this already but just in case - when you buy your first home here and you get your first rates bill Brisbane Council put on an $80 charge automatically to register change of ownership. However if it's your first home in Australia you don't have to pay. Just ring the Council and they will send you a form which you fill in to get exemption for this charge.
