Default Refrigeration engineers

Hi. My girlfriend and I have just been granted our permanent skilled visas and we are due to leave on October 2nd and are looking to go to Perth. As a refrigeration/air con engineer I was wondering what the work prospects are like. I have heard I may have to gain a restricted electrical licence in Australia before commencing work. Could anyone please clarify this for me. I was a bit concerned about the availability of work as whenever I have checked the job search engines there seems to be very few openings in this trade. Is this the case and, if so, would we be better off going somewhere else?

If there are any fridge engineers reading this could they please provide me with information as to wages/perks/company cars/phones/working hours/contracts (supermarkets or office blocks) etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hiya Andy & Caz,

There was something a while ago about training and getting a restricted elec licence.

You never know maybe a career swap if engineering dries up

Bye
