:D .. Do you think that is a printing mistake? or was the servant really called Lettuce Davies? lol

Its not a misprint Ceri, seems it used to be quite a popular name! My dad has done our family tree back to the mid 1700s in mid-Wales, and we have a couple of Lettices in there too!!!

Famous Lettices include a wartime ATA pilot - Lettice Curtis, who was the first woman to fly four-engined bombers.

The woman that Robert Dudley married behind Elizabeth 1sts back was called Lettice Knollys I think, I have no idea why I've remembered that??????????????

Pollyana May 4th 2004 12:48 pm

I don't know why you remembered it either, but you're right!!! Must have been drinking again (as if!).

Hows the house buying??

ANA123 May 4th 2004 1:00 pm

lol Polly, had a teenage obsession with tudor history, obviously some of it stuck!!!
We get the keys to our house next week! keep you posted on the housewarming:D

Pollyana May 4th 2004 1:04 pm

Thats brilliant! Can't wait to see the house.
Ours will have to wait a while as most lenders are saying no mortgage without PR, and my lousy job pays peanuts anyway:rolleyes:

Glad you've got yours sorted though. That should make the whole family feel more settled??:)
