Fab place to live with kids. I have 4 girls......and Meridan State College is brilliant
Loads of kids playing out in the street.....or back and forth each other's houses LOL
Very family friendly here.......but it should be called Little Britain LOL
Kangaroos bouncing by each morning on the way to school....cool
Plenty of support for each other, which is worth it's weight in gold.
Few houses up for rent still in this estate, but going pretty quick.

It's so great to hear all these "happy" stories! I'm still at the nervous stage, so it's nice that there are going to be friendly names to meet. We've applied for a house today and will hopefully hear tomorrow or Tuesday. Do you all use the local parks or travel further afield in the holidays?

Hi,
Where have you applied for a house? Fingers crossed for you anyway
I've only been here just over 3 months......but we go to one of the local beaches and take a picnic or have a b-b-q. The girls love just running around and going for a swim in the sea
Everywhere seems so much cleaner here than the UK.

Hi again, it's a duplex in Lieke-something Street. I can't pronounce it, but it looks nice and a good starting point. There seems to be quite a few properties out there to choose from, but we wanted to get as close to school as possible. Hopefully they come back and say yes so my husband doesn't have to go back and look at more! He has only written down for a 3 month term though and the agent seemed quite surprised, so I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Over here you don't normally sign up for a set term, it's more that you can stay on as long as you like and then give 2-4 weeks notice before you leave. I'm a bit worried about committing ourselves to a longterm lease over there in case something changes and we need to move away again (that's a polite way of saying that I might get homesick!)

Liekefett Way.......it's my street LOL
There are 2 houses on a corner plot opposite me, one is up for $365 and the other $385 per week. Both are brand new and just been finished.
My girls are in year 5, year 7 and year 8. My youngest starts prep next Jan.
We signed a 12 month contract on this house, as that is the usual starting term to get a rental.....and pay $450 a week. Prices have dropped since we have been here, so you should be able to drop the price!!!
You should love this estate......walk to school with loads of us LOL
None of us have been homesick yet as we have each other

That's the one I mean! We are looking at #1, apparently #2 has just been rented to another family (German I think?). It's a 2 storey place. Geez, 1 year sounds like a long lease - no wonder the agent looked at him funnily! I suppose I'm worried in case my husband can't find work and we have to move to another area or we want to buy a property or something. It's not likely to happen, but if we commit ourselves to a 1 year lease we could be stuck (but more than likely we will still be there in a year anyway, I'm just stressing about the commitment!).

Yeah I know the house
My husband is a Civil Engineer and can't get any work at the moment He's doing meter reading for now just to tick us over financially. We will buy in a few years time, that's if we ever sell our house in the UK
It will be very hard for us to leave this estate as we have such a good network of friends here now, so we may even end up buying here LOL.
A 1 year contract is normal......and times flies when you're having fun!!!

Yes Carline hee hee
6 months rental is better than a year then if you're worried about commitment
Not that I'm letting you move away from me now though Carline

I'll give you an email later, just have a quick look on here. Hopefully our house will be confirmed tomorrow, I'm going to ring the lawyer today, and see how things are going.
