Red Centre
1300 kms of driving and 6 hours of flying later I'm back. The red centre of Australia is an amazing place full of unique geography, flora and fauna.
Uluru itself tingles the spine when you look at it. It is immense but there is something else about the place. I am not a spiritual type of person but you can see why the Aborigines see it as a sacred place.
Anyhow here are a few photos and I'll add some more later.
This is Mount Connor

Something worth researching before walking the base is the Aborigine stories about the the animals they believe created the place.

Your pics reminded me of my trip to Uluru - the red stone against the blue sky - awesome.
And I know what you mean about the tingle.
Did you climb it or do the right thing by the Aborigines?

Katja Tjuta is another sacred Aboriginal site and an incredible place to explore and walk around. The valley of the winds walk is awe inspiring and worth doing if you are reasonably fit and healthy.
