Default Recruitment agencies

Hi All

I wonder if anyone could recommend any good agencies in and around the Joondalup and perth areas?. I am specifically looking for office work and mechanical work for my boyfriend.

In the past I have avoided agencies to be honest as they have never done much for me but I would like to hear from anyone currently in Australia who has had a good experience and could advise of any contacts.

Thanks

There's too many agencies out there to list them, best to do a search on the internet to find them.

From my experience, they are all pretty bad and have very little time for you. You have to keep pestering them constantly to try and find work.

One of the best places is the The West on a Saturday when it's job day. Should get a much better spread of work and at least you can apply directly to the companies.

Hi Jo

Have you tried contacting some of the larger English agencies here in the UK to see if any have branches/sister companies/contacts in Oz? Dutton International (I think thats its name) is one . might be worth ringing round - you may even find a helpful recruitment consultant who may know of such agencies .

good luck,
Sue

Hello again Jo,
just found a post way back around page 13 from Carrianne - titled all the things you need to know part 2 (or something like that!) from around 10th Aug. In it she has listed a few agencies, most of whom have branches in the UK. Good luck...
Sue

I've joined a few - but like you say they are all like back in the UK - they promise the earth and then you don't hear from them for 6 months if at all. I have had some luck with Recruitment Solutions,(St Georges Tce) and Adecco (Havelock St, Perth). RS got me temping work and am hoping to have secured a full time position from Adecco - accounts work for both. Have also signed up with Hays and TMP Hudson but I won't hold my breathe on either of these. If you do join them be prepared for a long appointment as they get you to take all the skills tests. One thing I sussed after the 3rd one is to get a copy of your results - typing speed etc - and then just take this to the other agencies as most will accept someone elses test results. Just sorry I didn't suss this earlier as my other half was not happy to have to sit and wait for me for 2 hours outside!! Also remember to take your passport to prove you are able to work here.
