I have found Thrifty to be very good I use them whenever I travel within Australia,they have places in most states.

I've used Europcar and Avis. Depends on who offers the best deal - but don't forget to play them all off against each other.

I'll second Thrifty - Adelaide office in Hindley St.

Excellent people, free upgrade to bigger car even though we said we wanted a cheap small one. They said they reckoned with the traveling and our luggage we needed the bigger one. Even came to collect us at our hotel the morning of hire. Dropped the car back and they didn't even bother to check it was ok, just took our word for it.

We used Aussie Car Rentals when we visited Adelaide last year.

We just emailed Brian at [email protected] and got an instant overnight answer on car hire for the period we needed.

Brian is a fantastic guy and will even arrange to pick you up at the airport at no extra charge.
