Default recession in Australia

Can anyone tell me what the state of the recession is in Australia, has it been hit hard or is it just a scaremonger, is the recession just a blip or the start something nasty like we have in Europe

It's fine, sell everything, book the flight and bugger the grumpy doom-mongers

It's hardly like there are lives at risk ...

Depends on the job area. Some parts of Australia are bad like Queensland whilst some parts are much better.

In relation to the UK parts of Queensland are suffering worst unemployment than the UK. Perth is technically in recession and Amazulu and you should be aware of the unique industries that perform well in Perth. On another note Amazulu I work with a few indian engineers with Australian qualifications who can't get a gig.

Australia technically avoided recession because the Government spent up big, of course it didn't stop companies and households suffering and people losing their jobs. The country is treading a very fine line and the next couple of years will be important, there is no boom for the average man/women in the street.
