That he'd moved from Bunbury to Rockhampton. That's fighting talk that is.

My main reason for living in Australia is that my husband and girls live here. I'd be damned miserable somewhere else because I like living with these people.

Hey J_B, how's it going? Havent been in touch with you for ageeeeeees.....

Reasons for living here:

Space
A decent size house with a reasonable mortgage, not a shoe box and no money at the end of every month to have a life!!!
Weather - DD can play outside for 95% of the year
Laid back lifestyle - that feeling of "i'll do it tomorrow" rather than "must do it today, rush, rush, rush..."
DH working less but getting paid more

In general we have a far better life here, there is no way I'd be able to give up work to look after our two kids in the UK, we had a pretty small mortgage there (half what we have here) and yet never had any money to spare and that was with us both working full time - in fact DH worked more than full time, he did a minimum 60 our week there.

Australia has vastly better culture.
Shops are better in Australia.
Indian restaurants are better in Australia.
AFL is superior to soccer.
Australian bands are better than British bands.
Australian TV is better than British TV.

I'm sure there's more.

Cool Re: reasons for living IN austraila

hi bridie how r u still down there in bunbury thats me been here now 4 years in feb still in the same house i remember on the other site you had i seen the pics when it was getting built never seen the end result

There is 1 more thing about western austraila, you can achieve more or it is easier to make something of yourself here i have made more of my life here in 4 years than i did the last 37 of them, well thats me is there anyone else agrees.

Hi John
Well, after a year living in our brand new house we decided we didnt like being on an estate surrounded by other houses (and huge sheds!) so we sold up and moved to an acre bush block - been here 18 months and absolutely love it.
Anyway, dont want to hijack the thread - will PM you my email addy as would love to hear what's been happening to you.

Oh, and Moneypen - think it was Rockingham not Rockhampton!
