re: where and what to rent
Hi
we are soon to be going to melbourne and being that we aren't shipping any funiture we need to find somewhere to live furnished.
we have looked on rental agent sites but most appear to have all un furnished.... we are looking for 2-3 bedrooms and wondered if anyone knows if it really isn't the norm for oz to have furnished rental properties...we have seen properties for about 200 dollars a week and this is what we think we can afford to pay...
any ideas.
thanks

Re: where and what to rent
Unfurnished houses are definitely not the norm in Australia, most houses when rented only supply the cooker & sometimes a dishwasher (usually in newer houses). You will need to supply everything else normally, including a fridge & washing machine. Very occasionally you will get a unit that has those included, but its not common.
Im not really up on rents in Melbourne, but based on the Brisbane market $200/week unfurnished sounds extremely cheap to me, don't like your chances of finding something furnished for that sort of money .
