Talking Re- Training

Can anyone help me?

I am a qualified veterinary nurse but the skill is not listed by immigration as a required skill.

My husband is a chef but does not have a degree and has trained in-house to get to management level with food hygiene certificates.

I am about to qualify as a journalist (not degree level)

Does anyone have any ideas as to what further training I could do to allow me to apply to migrate to Oz?

I will do what I have to but some ideas would be nice if anyone has any.

As ive got exams coming up, the thought of studying another 3 years for a degree makes me want to turn to alcohol. Actually I have done that already.

Anyway, Im going to make a cuppa now if anyone fancies one?

Oh yes, if I get a migration agent it will be Alan from Go Matilda, when I spoke to him on the phone, he was very helpful, thanks Alan.

The Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) do not always need qualifications to recognise someone as having a skill on the skilled occupations list. Your husband's skill as a chef may then be recognised without further training needed. (The same thing happened for my husband - a carpet fitter. He has no qualifications but his experience wasenough for a positive skills assesment).

Hope this helps

Mel

Thanks Mel

It does help and gives me a bit more hope. I think Im going to invest and see a consultant.

Maybe that would work for Journalism as well, you never know.

Speak to you later and thanks for getting back to me.
