Default rate rises and buying houses

Is it a good time to buy property or is it all going to crash and leave us skint with loads of negative equity?

Nah, so many of us pomms coming out here with our UK equity "Living the Dream" What could possibly go wrong?

I wonder if that tv program No going back gets commission from John Howard?

How much does a visa/medicals/tra/police check for an average family cost nowdays, shipping, set up costs must be getting close to 10K sterling.

The medias whipping it up again, had some woman on telly tonight crying saying the cost of living is so high they cant arrord to buy a house on $91,000 pa It happens with every rate rise, another family saying they have given up hope of living (cost of living I assume, not as in top yourself) all a bit OTT for .25%. Daily mail would love this place

Look at the UK, and the look at Oz.

The housing market here is very strong a the moment, and everybody is up in arms at house prices & mortgage rates.

The Uk has been the same for years, and it only gets dearer each year.

Buy now, and benefit from the price rises in the future (except maybe Perth )

Not just the 0.25% though really - this is the ninth consecutive interest rate rise in the last 5 years or so.....it all adds up!

I think the worry for many people won't be this one - but what happens when (if) the next interest rate rise comes through (as expected) in a few months!

Time for belt tightening people.

They have already said that another rise is on its way, even after this one. It will get worse before it gets better, but there is quite simply a houseing shortage at the moment, and thats the main factor in the house price market.
