Racism in Australia against Asian people

Re: Racism in Australia against Asian people
I am starting a new thread to hear comments/opinions/views on racism in Australia against people from Asian decent. I started this discussion last time some uneducated morons hijacked the topic. So please respond if you fall in the catergory of asian decent and have some helpful input to this matter. If you do not fall in the category, please dont waste your time and move on.
I know Racism exists every where in the world to some degree. What I really want to know is - obvious racism. For example,
Have any one of you experienced some thugs making derogatory remarks or jesture towards you in public place like in trains etc.
Do you feel unwelcome in Australia because your neighbor is pain in the ass?

Is this a racist remark?
"i have a feeling these stupid british with ego up to their ass ...spoil australian reputation."
I'll leave you to ponder this question whilst I toodle off and try to sort out the problems that I am currently having with my internet providings..

Re: Racism in Australia against Asian people
Now we all know All Brits would get the humour in Spartacus post, as would the vast majority of Aussies. I assume most people on the North American continent would.
We then get into a problem, where people see offence before humour. Would most non english speaking Europeans understand that joke of Spartacus'es.
It's the reaction to this kind of thing that is the genesis of racism. Australians as a whole really hate not being able to be themselves.
So if people come to this country with chips on their shoulder, then they will get a very negative reaction.... Whereas if they step back, try and understand what is meant without a knee jerk reaction then they may see through their own preconceived ideas.
OK would most Americans and which Europeans would see the humour in Spartacus joke there. ?
