Quiz on NY Times to analyse UK/Irish accents

This is good fun. It was very accurate for wife and me. Also for the kids in a way - we lived in the south, north and midlands with them - and this was picked up by the quiz. At the end it shows a map of where your accent applies. Kids are from kingdom of Mercia.

I was sceptical, but it put me within 15 miles of where I grew up.

Yes great fun and different questions for me and hubby. The results put us firmly in the areas we grew up. Him Sheffield and me in Burnley, Lancs.

We still argue about how to say scone!

Put me in a few different small areas of the South East, mainly on the south coast around Dover. Hmmm maybe not!

Bizarrely also Cambridgeshire / Peterborough when in fact the family 'connection' is Oxford not Cambridge
and I was raised in the Home Counties and London.

This put me slap bang in the middle of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with some NW England and North Wales bits (the original in-laws influence is strong, padwan)

I would like to make it clear that I'm not a flipping Geordie, I'm from co. Durham. So there.
