Default quick question?

Hi everyone

Just wondered, we`ve got to invest to gain an extra 5 points, how much time do you get when they request the money?

Any info with regards to investing is appreciated, did try to find other threads but got a bit confused

thanks Sue x

Sue,
We have to invest as well and are now waiting for the request. Can't tell where you are in the process. For Post July applicants, as these are the only threads i am following, once you have sent back your Meds and PCC, it takes around 6 - 8 weeks for the lodgement request to come through. I'm not sure how long you then get once they requested to lodge the bond, but it cant be very long. You must plan to have the money ready after your Meds and PCC have been sent back.

Good luck.

Many thanks

Our main application went in end of October, still waiting for Meds to be requested. Do you get an option of where you are to invest? only found out that we need to invest in Oct, poor advise from our (now sacked) agent.
We`ve sold our house & should be moving in Jan, so if that goes ok the money should be there when needed.

Looks like you`ve not got long then!! Good luck

Sue,
Glad to hear you sacked your agent. If they didnt know about the bond up front, then they didnt add any value to you. The $100K bond has been around since April this year. You would obviosuly invest in the terrirtory you are going to, but there are plenty of threads on this subject. Hopefully your timeline will mean Meds request around end of December and bond request around March/April, depending on how quick you are. It maybe worth having your Meds and PCC done early, so you save time/ I would certainly get your police checks done now, as they can take 6 weeks to come through and only cost £10 each.

We are nearly at the end of our application now, and it has gone by really quickly. Cant wait for the Bond request to come through, which really means we are in.

The A$100k bond has been around a lot longer than that (going back to 1999, I'm pretty sure).

And it's not needed up front, it's needed when DIMIA ask for it.

Hi Sue

We too need to invest $100k, we look on the DIMIA web site and they say you can invest in any State, once the bond is requested you have 49 days to make the payment....

Hope this helps

Hello,

As JAJ says it's been around longer than April; we had to do it last year. Once you get the instruction to go ahead with the investment you don't get that much time (around 40 days I vaguely remember). It is enough time to get it done but not enough time to faff around. You can invest in any of the states/territories and it is worth contacting all of the ones that do it, to get the best rate. Also, I don't think Victoria does the 1 year bond.

Cheers
Alistair
