Im asking this for a mate as i didnt have to do this because Im married...but is there any forms to fill in regarding proving the defacto relationship...? or do you just put evidence such as joint bank/joint homeownership etc etc in with the application...

hi pep.
i think you just have to have evidence of the relationship like as you say joint bills and joint morgage. you should be able to go back a few years to prove that you are together.
derek and me have been together 7 years, we have a joint morgage and a joint bank a/c for 4 1/2 a years, nearly all of our bills are in joint names so i am going to give them copies of everything.
i hope i am right with this.
hope this helps
kate.

Hi. We have just received our visa and we are also in a de facto relationship. We have lived together for 4 years and only had to provide evidence spanning 12 months. We used utility bills (with both names on)/joint bank account statements/photos. You can also use previous holiday bookings and statements from family/friends to prove your relationship. Hope this helps and good luck.
