Default Which queue at the airport??

We're finally off to Oz in a couple of weeks, , and I got to wondering about when we get to Sydney airport. I have an Aussie passport so will join the nice short Australian Residents queue at immgration control....but Mrs Wanderers is on a spouse visa...does anyone know if is it mandatory for her to join the long foreign nationals queue, or, because we are travelling together will she be allowed to use the Aussie queue withe me? I seem to recall from somewhere that families travelling together are allowed to do this as long as one person holds a full passport....or did I dream it?...or was I drunk?....

Last time I flew out I used my Ozzie passport and the missus and my son had their visas to validate - we all went to the Australian citizens queue. So I guess that answers your question.

Incidentally, my parents-in-law went through the foreigh nationals queue and made it to customs a good 15 minutes before us. So much for preferential treatment.
