What are the main differences between Melbourne and Brisbane for

House Prices
and of course dodgy critters like spiders and snakes

that is a bit of a chunk you have there i will bite off the "dodgy critters" bit, i think i am right in saying there are more dodgy type critters in brissy than melb, but then are you really worried about the odd spider or even odder snake???

i know i'm not.

Biggest difference is weather but I will let the natives go on about that.

Employment and wages: Brisbane generally less vacancies and lower wages.

Houses:
Cheaper in Brisbane

Education: I honestly think that it depends on which school you get. Here in Brisbane we have been in one lousy school, and one really good school.
One thing that did confuse us when we moved from Sydney to Brisbane, was that our daughter had to learn the QLD handwriting style. She had learned the NSW style in Sydney !!

Don't worry too much about spiders, snakes and cockroaches.

I've been in Brisbane for 12 months now, and last night I saw my first cockroach in the house, garage actually, for ages. I'll get the pest control people in again, and that'll fix them for the next 6-12 months.

I've not seen a snake up here in QLD, and haven't been bitten by a snake since I was in Cornwall ! Yes, UK.

Spiders ? Not as bad as people give the impression. Its something that worried me too when I came here, but its not really something to worry about.

And of course the weather. You can't beat Brisbane for the weather, unless you like Melbourne weather
