The chances of a UK institution going "down the pan", not sure it will happen, the 50k is a token gesture by the UK gov, rather alike the $1 million gesture the Australian Gov have put in place?

I just wish that exchange rate would improve? Could be along wait with this capping of Gilt yields and artificially keeping base rates low in the UK?
