Question on Social Benefit in Australia
Hi all,
We have obtained our Australian PR way back in June 2004. We flew to Perth for our initial entry sometime in Aug 2004, spent a few days there, and then flew back to our home country. However, we have plans to permanently move to Perth sometime early 2007.
It is stated that all PR holders of Australia will have to wait for a period of 2 years before they are able to claim certain financial benefits from the relevant govt dept. My question is .... how do they gauge the 2 year period?? Is it from our initial entry date?? or we have to show proof that we have "physically" stayed in Perth for 2 years????
Thanks.... DAVE.

And they will know whether you have been there two years from the DIMA records.
