Default Question re employer sponsored visa

Can I just ask a question. If we were thinking of moving over there in next 18 months to 2 years would we start applying for jobs now? We are looking for an employer sponsored visa if possible with my husbands trade but dont want to start sending his cv off now (he has been asked to send it to someone already) for them to offer him the job and we have to turn it down as we havent organised anything yet for moving.

how quickly do these things move?

thanks

And that was with the visa company stopping work for two weeks over Chrismas. The visa itself from submission to being granted was 9-10 days.

Not many employers will be recruiting for needs in 18months or 2 years time. On the other hand you wait until you are ready and it might take a while to find a job. Have uou thought about skilled migration, that might got better with what you want to do timing wise.
