question on dvd recorders
this may be a daft
will a dvd recorder work in aus?
will the tuner in the dvd recorder record tv with the sound?

I think it might be time to read the manual and see what it say's.

I think you need to see if it's multi region or not. Some British DVDs don't work in Aus players and vice-versa. If it's not you should be fine if you want to watch DVDs you already have but might not be able to buy more from here.

The multi region feature is only for playing DVD from that region. The recording side of the DVD recorder will require to recieve Australian broadcasts and you will have the same problems as with TV and Video recorders. One problem in Oz is that they broadcast sound differently to the Uk and some tv will recieve the picture but sound is garbled. Do a search on video recorders and TVs.
