Unhappy A question for Alan Collett

Alan, I hope you can help me on my way a bit regarding the following situation:

Going to apply for a partner visa under spouse (de facto) heading. We've got a certain amount of proof, but I'm worried that it may not be enough. Some things are not registered in both my and my partner's name (we just put some things in his name or didn't add my name to his). Of course I'm worried about this.

Then I found the following part of a post by 'alrobson':

When we applied for our skilled visa, one of the main concerns was proving our relationship as all the bills, mortgage etc were in my name. I bought the house and then my (now) wife moved in with me so we never changed the paperwork because we didn't think it was important. It was frustrating to think that someone could reject our visa application just because we couldn't PROVE we were together. Fortunately we used ALAN COLLETT who advised us on what to do.

A situation just like mine. Could you please suggest a few things that I could do? I was thinking of maybe writing a joint stat dec explaining our situation. Is this a good idea?

Hope you'll answer this post. Anyone else who has some good advice, please don't hold back !

Thanks!

J&K

I know I'd be lucky to get an answer. But if you don't ask, you're certainly not getting an answer, so I asked.

It's not that I'm looking for a way to not have to pay an agent, I'm just looking for answers to some specific questions from everybody on the forum that can and wants to help or give tips, in this case Alan Collett in particular.

So I'm hoping to get an answer and asking nicely.

Sorry, but detecting a hint of being attacked!

Hello J&K. I don't have a problem with you directing a query at me, although a Private Message or email would perhaps have been a more suitable way to communicate. And thanks to the others for speaking up for me!

In fairness, and as noted by chippy, etc I really do need to charge a fee for this sort of advice. I'm happy to give general advice on this Forum on many occasions, but in the case of information that is usually pivotal to the success of an application I have to ask for some money. Otherwise we'd never handle any spouse or partner visa applications.

For reference we charge £595 plus VAT for assisting and managing a de facto spouse visa application through to a visa decision, including advising on the issues you have mentioned, medicals, etc.

Over to you!

Best regards.
