hi gary,

tell julie not to beat herself up about it, you've made stacks of friends and on the bright side, you have loads of fab places to visit without the pressure of thinking of settling as im sure everyone you have met would be more than happy to have you and your family over for hols.
It wasnt meant to be, and atleast like you say, she had the guts to say so before everything spirals out of control.
take care of yourselves

luv

Hi were are you planning on going to ?We had not planned on going on a reccie but glad we did,in our opinion we would recommend this .I felt it was very like America, nothing seemed to be walking distance so would mean 2 cars, plots of land getting smaller, shopping not as cheap as people made out,we also had concerns about the financial side of things as neither of us do well paying jobs(have 2 kids so difficult to work full time).I think the sun is a big attraction for some people but it is not everything.Obviously we were only in Queensland but we didn't fancy anywhere else other than Perth but it is just to expensive. We did research before we went so were aware of alot of what we have mentioned, once in Queensland we realised it was not for us.I stress this is our opinion and hopefully nobody takes offence.

Thanks for that. I am still feeling a bit guilty for Gary as he has always fancied Oz but I know I made the right decision.Maybe one day we will come back on holiday coz Gary would like to hire a camper van and drive all over ,think he is having a midlife crisis (ha ha ).Shame we were unable to meet, take care.

Yep def jump in the heat, we made it as far as Bundaburg the other week, will have to make the pilgrimage to Townsville again one day and add a bit diving in the mix.

Pool is starting to get used big time.

My parents go Wed then will try and get round to emailing all the neglected people.
