Hi all, arriving in Brissie in Aug, OH is a plumber of 13yr.
We have sent all docs for a provisional licence to the plumbers board and just have to pick it up on arrival when we have an Oz address. We are aware that there is a course to be taken to gain a full licence but plan to do that once settled.
We were wondering what other plumbers did when they arrived? How easy was it to find a job on a provisional license? Did the company demonstrate the different way of plumbing in Oz or are you supposed to know? It is 10yr since OH used silver solder and oxi-accetaline, he's worried that he's going to be thrown in at the deap end.

Its not the oxy you have to be worried about.. It’s the blisters on your hands… we do a lot more drainage over here.. i.e. ground work
I’ve been working since Feb. and in my experience its all thumbs up.. Tell him not to worry its all part of the adventure. :thumbup:
