You are met at the airport, fill in forms etc and are escorted onto buses to whichever hotel is taking the passengers in that day. You are restricted generally to your room in the hotel, and anything delivered to you is brought up to your room, as are the meals. There's a large team of people working with the hotels to try and make the necessary quarantine as painless as possible for everyone, and any problems are being dealt with as quickly as possible. I know I probably sound biased but I work alongside the team that is responsible for keeping track of who is where and what needs paying for etc, so I've got a reasonable insight into the process. I also have a mate who came back into the country via a Sydney hotel, he was extremely unimpressed by the whole process down there, and I have to say it sounds more organised up here. |

Not sure how that would determine a "safe" country, then had to figure out if people from an infected country used the safe country as a layover. I can't see the UK being near the top of the "Safe" list. Still a few thousand new infections, and a few hundred deaths every day, and with the sun out in the UK, social distancing goes right out the window. |

That really depends on the rest of the world. Maybe they might start putting countries in a bubble. They are talking NZ first.

Yeah. ScoMo has said as much right from the start. Western Australia has had an explosion of cases this week - about two dozen - all from overseas (not just the sheep ship) and all tested positive while in quarantine. Just served to underscore what will happen almost immediately if the borders get opened. It makes no sense to open the borders just because it is under control here. It has to be under control elsewhere for the borders to open.
